It’s been a pretty warm day in Chicago, but it’s nearly 9 pm and I’m sitting next to an open window enjoying the breeze. I didn’t have a super-exciting week, but I managed to get a workout in every day, my eating was pretty on-point, and I got a lot done around the house.
I’ll start the recap at Monday. As usual, I had a green smoothie for breakfast. This time, I used a “water spinach” that my mom got me from the Farmer’s Market, along with berries, ginger, Amazing Grass greens, collagen peptides, chia, and hemp seed oil. When I got home from work, I did an arm circuit using a resistance band, 10-lb dumbbells, the wall, and my own body weight. After, I went for a 1-mile run, and when I got back, I went grocery shopping.

I got spinach, zucchini, Romaine lettuce, green beans, mushrooms, avocados, tomatoes, broccoli, 12-grain bread, yogurt, kombucha, tofu, and the new veggie chicken/burgers from Aldi. I am excited to try them. For dinner, I made zoodles and garlic green beans.
Tuesday, I had a long day at work. I had some veggies and a chickenless patty for lunch, and when I got home, I did a yoga session with Sanela/Psyche Truth. I also made cauliflower gnocchi and then went to see The Lion King with my mom. I thought it was really good! The original has always been one of my favorite movies, and they followed it pretty precisely. The attention to detail in the animals’ eyes, muscles, fur, and movement was incredible, and much of the scenery was just exquisite. I really enjoyed it.

Wednesday, I went for a little walk after work. Sometimes, I just need to spend time with nature and try to breathe. I let myself get too anxious and overwhelmed sometimes, and spending time looking at the scenery outdoors can be really therapeutic.

Later, I did a leg-focused workout with a 30-lb resistance band. I worked my inner thighs, calves, and hamstrings. After, I made a random casserole. I layered a baking dish with cauliflower rice, topped that with shredded chicken that I boiled, used 1/4 cup of the broth from the boiled chicken and mixed it with 8 oz of cream cheese, and poured that over the top of the chicken along with a large crown of chopped broccoli. I sprinkled a little cheddar cheese on top and baked it for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. I blogged about my zoodle dish and then went to sleep!
Thursday, I headed to the woods to do some outdoor exercises and yoga. I ended up starting a new Instagram page to work in tandem with this blog: @breeannaliving. I wanted to take some photos that I could post to the new account. I did a lot of stretches within some beautiful scenery!

I felt really good after breathing in all that fresh air and loosening my muscles, Later, I had some bruschetta-style pasta salad with broccoli and watched the last episode of Stranger Things. I am so sad that I finished it, but it was such a good season. I cried for like, 20 minutes straight during the last episode!
Friday, I started the morning with a full-body workout. I did burpees, wall push-ups, squat jumps, used a resistance band, light weights, and a lot of core work. After, I had an apple cider vinegar shot and green smoothie. After work, I didn’t do much of anything, really! I had some leftover pasta for dinner and watched the first episode of the Netflix series Typewriter. I was feeling fierce in the hot weather.

Today, I was up early for a leg workout. I did squats, lunges, deadlifts, various squats and squat jumps, kicks, and tried to do a lot of balance on one leg. After, I went to the woods for a little bit to enjoy the breezy day. As usual, the water and foliage was beautiful.

When I got home, I ate some leftover broccoli casserole and a small salad with Romaine, green leaf lettuce, carrots, and sunflower seeds. I spent the rest of the day deep-cleaning the apartment. I love the way my kitchen ledge and plants looks as the sun is setting.

After cleaning, I showered off and now I am switching between blogging and writing fiction for the book I am working on. As a Saturday-night treat, I am also having a pre-made drink we found at the store today. I love anything ginger, so it’s pretty good, but I think it could use even more ginger!

Tomorrow will be a rest day since I worked out every day this week. I am not sure what I will do yet, but I hope to spend some time outside and with my pup. I hope you all had an awesome weekend!
